A look at the equipment of the BNTVA Collection & Archives team.

CZUR M3000 Pro Book Scanner

This scanner is capable of scanning up to an A3 page size.

It can quickly digitise books and documents, a small book like the one shown takes about 30mins.

This equipment has a built in book slope and will digitally flatten out book pages. This meaning books can sit naturally without braking the spine which can happen on a normal flatbed scanner.

It also has a built in OCR software (OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition).  This software will quickly transfer the scanned images into editable Word/PDF/TIFF files. This makes the scanned file searchable, which is very handy for research.

It's not limited to books and documents as it will also scan a wide range of archival materials, even photographs can be digitised using this the non-destructive scanning method.

This piece of equipment does dismantle and will be brought down to our events for digitising of people's collections on site.

kaiser Copy stand

This is our static copy stand which we use for larger objects.
